Every year at Ferryscanner, we recruit a group of skilled university students to assist us with the workload. These interns interact with customers and issue ferry tickets from our office in downtown Athens. We asked our 2023 interns to share some feedback about their experiences. Here is what they had to say!
“My internship experience at Ferryscanner was enlightening. I gained valuable skills in the field of customer service and honed my multitasking abilities through the management of multiple customers simultaneously. Also, I acquired a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of the different ferry companies and their policies. “What I enjoyed most during my Ferryscanner internship was the unwavering support and guidance from the full-time staff and the feeling of belonging that the office radiates. One of my favorite moments was towards the end of my internship, when we faced a unique challenge (due to a sailing prohibition and an impending strike at sea) which resulted in a sudden surge in customer inquiries. Working closely with the team, we successfully navigated the workload, and that collective accomplishment is a very positive, memory for me.” (Antonio V.)

“During my six months at Ferryscanner, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the entire ferry ticketing cycle, from booking to boarding and all the stages in between. Also, I learned all about changing or cancelling a trip. One thing that I struck by, was the intricate process involved in implementing even the most minor changes, which underscores how much attention to detail is required in this industry.” (Antonio V.)

“My advice is to pay close attention during training. Don’t be afraid to ask as many questions as you need. The full-time agents will always help you find the best solution. Just keep calm and enjoy the ride because once you get the hang of it, the internship will fly by.” (Eleni T.)
