The Digital Disability Card makes it easier for people with disabilities (PWD) to travel, providing special discounts and privileges, especially when travelling by ferry. By displaying this card, disabled people can prove their identity and disability rate, ensuring discounts on ferry tickets.
In this article, you will find all the details about the types of cards. Then you can book your ferry tickets using Ferryscanner.
There are three main types of Greek Digital Disability Cards which are valid for ferry travel:
The Digital Disability Card differs from the previous certificates as it does not contain sensitive personal data about the disability of the holder. All that is indicated is the scale of the disability rate and whether or not there is a need for a companion.
The disability scales are divided as follows:
The Disability Card is accepted as a supporting document for all types of travel (including ferry travel) as long as the cardholder has a disability rate of more than 80% (III symbol).
The card may be marked with an S symbol, indicating that the holder needs a companion to accompany them. In this case, the cardholder’s companion is entitled to the same ticket discount benefits as the cardholder. This applies to people with the symbol III who need an accompanying person for their journeys by ferry.
The Digital Disability Card facilitates the travel of disabled people on ferry journeys, ensuring discounts and direct access to benefits while offering flexibility and practicality.
