The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is a four-day international sailing event that attracts experienced sailors from around the world. In 2023, the 43rd edition of the event will be held in Simpson Bay on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten, and it will feature over 200 boats of all different types. It is a great opportunity to see some of the world’s best sailors compete in a fun and exciting setting.
One of the most popular festivities in the Canary Islands every year is the Carnival Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This year the Las Palmas Carnival will begin on 10th February and last until 5th March 2023. The Gran Cabalgata is the event’s biggest parade and it will start at 17:00 from Castillo on the 4th of March.
If you’re in Finland this month, the annual Savoy JAZZFest will be held in Helsinki for the fifth consecutive year. It’s an international festival organized by the Savoy Theatre to present the best of both international and Finnish jazz music.

Sparkling & Wine Stockholm is an interactive fair with an assortment of wines and selected delicacies. Head to the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Center on Friday, March 10 from 14:00 until 20:00. The following day, the event will last from 11:00 until 19:00. You won’t be able to pay with cash at the drink stands but you can buy drink booklets online in advance or at the door upon arrival. The city of Valencia celebrates Spring every year with the Fallas bonfire. Throughout the months leading up to this unique spectacle, many people work to prepare the elaborate and temporary cardboard statues that will cover the city and later be consumed by the flames. On the night of March 19th, the figures are all burned amid a spectacle of light, music, and fireworks. The Fallas international festival in Spain has been designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2016.
The National Saint Patrick’s Day Festival returns to the streets of Dublin on March 17, with pageants, marching bands, and more participants than ever before! This year’s parade is sure to be a spectacle for all who attend and is a great way to celebrate Irish culture and heritage. There will be seven creative pageants, 10 transitional showpiece performances, 15 marching bands from across Ireland, North America, and Canada, and more than 4,000 participants. The theme of this year’s festival is coming together to celebrate and remember that ‘we are one’.
Starting back in 2012, the Athens Half Marathon event has been a massive success. The route starts and ends at Syntagma Square in front of the historic Parliament building and the Tomb of the Unknown Solider on Amalias Avenue. Runners need to be at least 18 years old to be eligible.
