Grimaldi Lines, founded in 1947 in Naples, is one of Italy‘s oldest shipping companies. Initially dedicated to cargo transport, it gradually expanded its services to include passenger transport.

Currently, the company operates 20 maritime connections in the Mediterranean Sea under the Grimaldi Lines brand, connections in the Baltic Sea under the Finnlines brand, domestic lines in Greece under the Minoan Lines brand, and links Barcelona and Valencia to the Balearic Islands under the Trasmed brand.

Grimaldi Lines offers 20 maritime connections in the Mediterranean Sea, 7 of which sail to/from Sardinia: Livorno-Olbia, CivitavecchiaPorto Torres, Civitavecchia-Olbia, Civitavecchia-Arbatax, Civitavecchia-Cagliari, Naples-Cagliari, Palermo-Cagliari and vice versa. Grimaldi Lines also reaches Sicily with the lines Livorno-Palermo, Naples-Palermo, Salerno-Palermo, Cagliari-Palermo and vice versa, Spain, with the lines Civitavecchia-Barcelona, Porto Torres-Barcelona, and vice versa, Greece with the lines Brindisi-Igoumenitsa, Brindisi-Corfu, Ancona-Igoumenitsa, Ancona-Corfu and vice versa, and Tunisia with the lines Civitavecchia-Tunis, Salerno-Tunis, PalermoTunis and vice versa.

Grimaldi Lines’ Vessels

Grimaldi Lines’ fleet consists of 14 modern ferries, each equipped with advanced facilities to ensure maximum passenger comfort.

The two flagships Cruise Roma and Cruise Barcelona, linking Italy with Sardinia and Spain, as well as being the first Mediterranean ships with zero emissions in port, are also the largest in the fleet, carrying up to 3,500 passengers. Not far behind are Cruise Sardegna and Cruise Europa, employed on the Livorno-Olbia link and also equipped with numerous services to make the crossing a real holiday anticipation.

Grimaldi Lines’ Onboard Amenities

On board, passengers will find numerous dining areas, an outdoor swimming pool, and spaces dedicated to wellness, such as the Wellness Centre, present on Cruise Roma, Cruise Barcelona, Cruise Europa, and Cruise Sardegna, which includes a sauna, Turkish bath, jacuzzi, relaxation area, rooms for massages and beauty treatments, as well as tri-facial lamps and sun showers. Zeus Palace and Europalink, which travel to Greece from Brindisi, have a massage room and sauna, respectively.

The à la carte and self-service restaurants offer a variety of traditional Mediterranean dishes, along with gluten-free options and Halal dishes for passengers on routes to/from Tunisia. Snack bars, located both indoors and on the outside decks, offer quick snacks during crossings.

Grimaldi Lines also offers a shop with a wide range of products and souvenirs, and recreational areas for the entertainment of young and old.

Almost all ships also have a disco and an area with live musical entertainment.

The company is committed to ensuring accessibility for all passengers, including those with reduced mobility. On board its ships, there are elevators with lighted keypads, audio, and buttons appropriate for blind passengers, facilitating access to the decks. Cabins equipped for passengers with reduced mobility are equipped with toilets that comply with current regulations. On the main routes on board, tactile guides are installed to direct blind passengers to the main services. In addition, dedicated toilets equipped for passengers with reduced mobility are available in common areas.
