The Liberty Lines company was founded in 1993 by the Neapolitan shipowner Vittorio Morace.
The company was founded on the island of Ustica, which is exactly what Morace initially named his company. Initially, the company merely offered connections between the ports of Naples, Ustica, Favignana, Trapani, Pantelleria and Kelibia in Tunisia. These routes represented the beginning of a rapid and significant expansion for the company.
This sudden growth led to changing the company’s name to something that truly encapsulated its identity. This is how Liberty Lines was born.
Today, Liberty Lines is considered the largest high-speed ferry company in the world.
Liberty Lines is a company specialising in connections with the smaller Sicilian islands and other Mediterranean tourist destinations. Liberty Lines has formed significant alliances with various companies to enrich the offer to its customers. These include partnerships with transport companies such as Grimaldi Lines and Autoservizi Salemi, which expand travel options and connections for passengers. In addition, the company works with MTU Solutions to maintain and improve the technical performance of its fleet.
